It gets you in a good mood and gives you lots of energy, and it is a drug that is naturally produced in the seeds and plants. The caffeine is produced artificially and is added to certain foods. When the drug is in it’s natural form, it has a bitter taste to it, but most things with the drug in them have gone through a process to hide the bitter taste.
Caffeine can be found in chocolate, coffee, tea, soft drinks, over the counter medications and pain relievers. Lots of teens get the drug from energy drinks and soft drinks. The caffeine is not stored in the body but you can feel the effects of the caffeine for up to 5 hours.
Some people think that caffeine helps them be more alert but when too much is taken you could get jitters, anxiety, dizziness, headaches and it could interfere with you sleeping normal. The amount of caffeine that will effect a person depends usually the size of the person. If you take caffeine everyday it will take more and more to give the same effect. Caffeine is also a diuretic which means it makes you urinate more than usual and also causes the body to lose calcium and can lead to bone loss way over time and you could start developing osteoporosis. Caffeine can also aggravate certain types of heart problems. It also can also so stress or anxious feelings to get worst than they really are.
Caffeine has also been used to treat migraine headaches but on the other hand it can cause you to have headaches for some people.
