Detox

The decision to begin a detox program is not an easy one to make. Once the decision has been made, it is then another matter to choose the right detox center for you. This will require you to understand the different types of detox and the types of people for which they are the most helpful.

Detox ProfessionalsOutpatient Detox

Outpatient detox is the least invasive type of detox program. It has the smallest effect on your day-to-day lifestyle. You will simply visit a detox facility at scheduled times to undergo your detox treatment.

Outpatient detox is best for those who do not suffer from a severe addiction, but still need help. For those who still need to remain at home for their families and still must go to work, this is a very good option, if you find the right outpatient detox center for you.

Inpatient Detox

Inpatient detox is for more severe addictions and will require a short-term stay at a detox center. It is more invasive because it will take you away from your home and your job for a period of time, generally in the area of one week to 30 days. The first few days of this process will be the actual detox and the remainder of the time will focus on ways to beat your addiction.

Long-Term Residential Detox

Detox ResultsDesigned for the most severe drug addictions, this type of detox will take longer and be harder on your body. Like inpatient detox, it will require you to take a leave of absence from work and move into a residential detox facility. The stay can be anywhere from 30 days to a year or more. However, only the beginning of the process will be the detox period. The rest of the time will be focused on beating the addiction and preparing yourself to begin your life anew.
